Frequently Asked Questions
Does DragonSword: Awakening have co-op or multiplayer?
Yes, with limits. The main story and open world are single-player, but regular boss fights and subjugations support up to 2 players and raids support up to 3. Co-op is instanced and host-hosted over peer-to-peer, and it unlocks after you finish the tutorial chapters and reach the first major hub in Orbis.
What platforms is DragonSword: Awakening available on?
DragonSword: Awakening is currently available on PC via Steam only, with a $29.99 buy-to-play price. PlayStation 5, Xbox and Switch versions are in development, but Hound13 has not announced a console release date yet. There is no official mobile version — the "Dragon Sword" app on Google Play is a different game by Webzen.
How much does DragonSword: Awakening cost?
DragonSword: Awakening costs $29.99 on Steam and is buy-to-play. It has no gacha and no microtransactions — all 19 playable heroes are earned through story and exploration. Optional DLC is cosmetic only, adding costumes and familiars rather than gameplay advantages.
How many characters are in DragonSword: Awakening and how do you unlock them?
There are 19 playable heroes. Eight join through main quest and hero quest progression, while the other 11 are recruited from the Exchange shop using Fate's Invitation tickets earned in-game. No character requires real money, so you can collect the full roster by playing the story and side content.
Is DragonSword: Awakening a gacha game?
No. DragonSword: Awakening originally began development as a gacha project, but Hound13 pivoted to a buy-to-play model after player feedback. There is no gacha, no stamina, and no paid currency for power — every hero and item is earned through main story quests, hero quests, exploration and co-op content.
